If you are a parent, friend or family member of a child with or at risk of a developmental delay, then we are glad you have found us.
If you’re looking for information or a local contact, someone who cares, your Early Start Family Resource Center (ESFRC) has friendly, helpful staff who are good listeners and can be by your side as you navigate new systems. ESFRCs employ parents of children with disabilities who can provide practical and emotional peer support.
All of California’s 47 ESFRCs, funded by the Department of Developmental Services, serve families of children with disabilities, ages birth to three, and the professionals who serve them. Many have additional funding that allows them to serve families of older children as well as youth and adults with disabilities.
Your local ESFRC will be able to provide you with:
- Parent to parent support services
- Training and conferences
- Resources and information
- Referral services
- Assistance at transition at age three
